THE DANIEL CODE ONLINE:
23 June 2008-Gold Trend Charts
Comex Gold- The monthly chart is on a Sell signal. The Sell failure point is at 938.40. A monthly close above 938.40 will negate the current Sell signal.
The weekly chart is on a Sell signal. A weekly close above 914.70 will negate the current Sell signal.
When both the monthly and weekly charts are showing the same directional signal we assume that the signals reflect the current trend. When the monthly and weekly charts are showing different signals we assume that there is no dominant trend and the market is consolidating. The first signal on a trend reversal is always exit MOC.
$HUI-The monthly chart is on a Sell signal. The failure point for the monthly Sell signal is at 461.10. A monthly close above 461.10 is required to negate the current Sell signal.
The weekly chart is on a Sell signal. The weekly Sell failure point is at 423.60. A weekly close above 423.60 is required to negate the present Sell signal.
When both the monthly and weekly charts are showing the same directional signal we assume that the signals reflect the current trend. When the monthly and weekly charts are showing different signals we assume that there is no dominant trend and the market is consolidating. The first signal on a trend reversal is always exit MOC.

"The industry of big oil has become so bad, so evil, that Democrats think it's high time the government steps in and basically runs Universal Oil Care. They want to nationalize big oil. The only thing funnier than the ridiculousness of this idea would be actually watching the government find a way to lose money running the oil industry. First Maxine Waters told oil executives that 'this liberal' would socialize oil companies, then House Democrats proposed nationalizing oil refineries. They aren't even hiding it anymore!" Oil prices are volatile and rising. This is hitting American consumers and businesses hard. Some of the volatility and price hike has been blamed on oil speculators. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission wants to limit overseas trading.
US regulators have announced plans to impose limits on oil trades overseas.
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission said the London-based electronic exchange would have to comply with US rules.
The move comes as oil prices notch up record highs, amid fears that speculators are distorting the market.
As a result, fuel costs have shot up hitting the global economy. Airlines have been hit badly, with near record losses expected for 2008 in the US.

Jun 13, 2008, Universal Turn on the daily charts?
Here is a great way to check out the accuracy of the Daniel Code Charts. John Needham made this post yesterday.
Per TheDanielCode website:
"US markets have only been open for 30 minutes and I could be wrong by lunchtime and of course I am only looking at daily charts BUT it is all knowledge. This is what I wrote to a colleague just a few moments ago:
Of interest today purely from a charting point of view are FTSE and DAX trying to turn at their DC targets (UK client charts from today's update are attached), India's NIFTY reversing from its DC targets, DJ and $SPX reversing where they should, Corn and Soybeans and Wheat putting in what looks at this early stage to be reversal bars at the numbers and one of our newer markets $RUT turning where it should also. Aussie SPI is the outlier so will be interesting to see what it does but likely any turn there will come on SYCOM for which Genesis don't have data.
I assure you no one is more amazed at what these numbers do than I am!

We at last have a Danielcode Trading Manual and updated FAQs which are available at their relevant sidebars. Most of the work on these docs has been done by a DC member and I am sure they will be hugely helpful. For those sturdy souls who have largely had to find their own way around the Danielcode, thank you for your patience and I am sure there is much to learn in the new documents.
I checked this out earlier today and found both to be exceptional in detail and helpful in taking action.
Summer is on us and with oil at another new record high today the daniel numbers become even more helpful.
The wheat contract seems like it died and John has added a new chart this week for Soybeans. "Beans, Beans the musical fruit". More like Ka-Ching Ka-Ching.
We are adding many new pages to the site this month with good information for newbie traders wanting to get their feet wet.
This is great time to subscribe and try out the daniel code for a month while the markets are adjusting for the summer months.

In financial markets love does not conquer all, so even the greatest lover needs to know how to tell when a trend is over. At the very least trend followers need to have a strategy to deal with the end game. Shorter term swing traders also have to know when to step off the ride, and daytraders always have their exit weapon primed and cocked.
For you lovers of all things property and gold I leave you with Dorothy Parker’s thoughts to ponder, all the more powerful for coming from the other team. Part of our trade intelligence is always to know what the other side is thinking. Here it is:

We are experiencing terrific results this week with the S&P and the Russell including reversals on the DC charts within 3 ticks.
S&P -- John Needham writes, "S&P daytraders had 1441 as an intraday target from the 151m (F) chart on Monday. The intraday high was at 1440.70 just 3 ticks away.
Russell -- "Russell day traders had a nice trade on Monday when the index turned down at 747.99 against its DC target of 747.88. All DC lines are valid and often the index is more accurate than the cash, so futures traders must always be aware of what the cash or index is doing. The index actually is the market."

posted T.03 time turns for 5 forex pairs. New daily and weekly forex
charts and the T.03 signal were posted here by midnight Sunday. We get working
early down here. At the end of the European session (forex is a genuine 24 hour
market) all of them had turned at their DC numbers as foreshadowed by the T.03
signal and were showing the following figures. Note that I say "ticks" for
anything on the right side of a decimal whereas forex guys like to talk of
"pips". I always thought pips came in Oranges so I use the old terminology, but
they mean the same thing.
EUR-JPY + 125; GBP-CHF +225; GBP-JPY +253;
GBP-USD + 110 and SGD-JPY +92.
That's 805 ticks at an average tick value of $10
equals $8050 per one contract for half a day's work! "

"The unfolding story of the US Dollar’s daze and its counter intuitive reaction to Wednesday’s Fed rate cut combined with its linkage to multiple spread trading and carry trade strategies make this our obvious starting point to explain some of the markets recent mysteries. That the interests of so many investors are linked to DX, whether they know it or not, has been stated here on many occasions. That the majority of investors continue to ignore this linkage is to their detriment.
DX
Today’s Bloomberg headline signals growing awareness that at least an intermediate low is likely in for DX:
Dollar Rally Bloomberg 05/01/2008. The dollar advanced to a five-week high against the euro and increased versus the Japanese, Swiss, British and other currencies a day after the Fed cut its benchmark rate by a quarter point to 2 percent and signaled that if may be finished reducing borrowing costs."

Apr 27, 2008, Elegant Global Summary
America, of course, is already in recession – although the cascade of defaults, business closures, and job losses has barely begun.
Japan is in recession too, according to Goldman Sachs;. Britain, Ireland, Spain, Italy, and New Zealand, are tipping into housing slumps and demand implosions of varying severity.
Ontario and Quebec have stalled. Canada’s growth is the weakest in fifteen years, hence the half point cut by the Bank of Canada yesterday.
Australia is on borrowed time, whatever the price of coal and iron ore.
Household debt is 175pc of disposable income, up in La La Land with England, Ireland, Denmark, and the Dutch. The wholesale funding market for mortgages that underpins this nonsense remains frozen.
Together these countries and regions make up roughly 45pc of the global economy, and over half global demand.
Europe will suffer 40pc of the entire $940bn global losses stemming from the credit crunch. Euro banks alone will lose $123bn (compared to $144bn for the US). "Loss recognition will need to catch up," said the IMF.
The report contains a grim chapter on what may happen along the vast arch of over-heating silliness from the Baltics to the Black Sea, funded by Austrian, Swedish, German, Belgian, and Italian banks." Ambrose Evan-Pritchard at the Times Online
Please read the whole article at TheDanielCode web site. If you think you have the luxury of not using every available trading "arrow" in your quiver then you are mistaken.
The author now provides an additional indicator that helps to make clear the meaning of the Daniel Number.
"To clarify your thinking I am providing some signals from one of my proprietary turn indicators that does a pretty good job of identifying turns. The signal is made at the end of a daily bar and the signal is either “On” or “Off”. The signal usually lasts for 2 days but can be just 1 day or extend to 4 days on occasions." JC

Apr 25, 2008, Testimonial -- The Daniel Code
I found DanielCode.com on Saturday February 9th. I am a regular reader at FinancialSense.com but for some reason had not taken my time to read your articles. I really wish that I had found you much earlier.
When I joined danielcode.com I was already in 6 Ultra Short ETF”S that had gone far against me as of the 8th. I had kept thinking that this market had to turn and go down.
After subscribing I got the new charts for the S&P (SPX) and the Dow (DJIA ). I read as much as I could about how the daniel code worked. It looked like what I needed to do was cut my losses first thing Monday the 11th which I did early in the morning using the charts you put up Monday pre-market. On Monday I got OUT. Took a huge loss and really beat myself up for the rest of the day and night.
Tuesday the 12th when I looked at the index futures per-market and then looked at your charts for the S&P and the DJIA, I got ready to jump back in. I followed the charts (with sweaty palms) and went long Ultra Long DDM and SSO right where the charts indicated…followed the prices up and when they both double topped mid morning closed each out for a nice profit.
Then I bought FXP Ultra Short later in the morning and let the trade take me back down close to what the DJIA chart had the danilecode. Closed it out for another nice profit.
Not sure I am supposed to day trade the danielcode but it worked today.
By the way, the OTHER service that I have been a member of for over 3 years put out a signal to go short Monday the 11th mid-day. I Didn’t!
I need to learn a lot about how to use the DanielCode and I also need to learn how to trade Futures and the Forex.
If I had been in a Futures trade this morning on both the DJIA and the SPX I would have made enough to cover my earlier loss and then made a significant profit.

"The allowable variances from target for the Danielcode price level are set out in the members forum but the rule of thumb is that we have a qualified setup bar in forex if the high/low of the daily bar (high if going up and low if going down) is within 40 ticks (pips) of a DC number. For other markets the usual variance is +- 0.0025 or 0.25%."
Taken from Danile Code Website
Most of the people following what we are doing here are astounded at the accuracy of the Daniel Numbers, once they understand how they work.

From last week's article "Hostage Gold" for FSO: "
The missing link in this back of the envelope type of thinking is that it fails to take into account the 600lb gorilla in the room; the US Dollar. I have made the point in previous weeks that Gold is now powerfully entwined as a carry trade with USD ... For those of you with a mind for detail look at the lockstep inverse correlation between DX and Gold on a daily chart since 17th March. DX up: Gold down.
